BESIX Group continues to work

Several countries around the world have begun gradually lifting their strict corona measures. In many of them, this allows for a gradual restart of the economy. For BESIX Group, it means we can intensify our activities in the countries where we continued to work, and restart our activities in those countries where we had to close down sites in order to protect our employees and suppliers. As a leading construction group, safety and health are our top priorities and this is reflected in the way we are increasing our activities. In all countries in which we are active, we adapt our way of working to the safety measures taken by the different authorities and our specific risk analysis.

Teleworking remains the norm

For colleagues who usually perform in an office environment, working from home remains standard. Those who are required to work and meet at the office despite this rule will abide by the three general safety measures: maintaining social distance, meticulous hand hygiene and wearing a face mask. BESIX Group supplies these face masks to employees and visitors. In addition, we have taken other safety measures to prevent the spread of the virus. At least one COVID-19 Officer per office oversees the installation of a clear circulation plan to avoid employees crossing each other in the hallways, the presence of strategically placed hand sanitizer stations, a limitation on the amount of people in small spaces such as meeting rooms and elevators and so on. All these measures allow for an optimal protection of ourself and others.

Safety on site

Employees who are active on our sites can continue to work if the social distance can be maintained. If they are carrying out activities which do not allow for the maintaining of social distance, we have taken as many safety measures as possible in order to protect our employees and our building partners. Wearing a face mask is obligated and each site will have a team of COVID-19 Officers who will oversee the compliance to all hygienic measures. They will also ensure additional measures, such as the daily disinfection of all materials, an adapted planning of breaks, organizing transport to and from the site as safe as possible, and so on.

We are following the situation closely in all countries in which BESIX Group is active, and we continue to adapt all measures to the most recent regulations.

In the meantime, we try to meet our clients’, suppliers’ and partners’ needs as best as we can. We are at their service in these uncertain times.

Lastly, we would like to thank all of our employees for their infallible dedication to our group.
