The Franki company started with the execution of the Franki pile, a driven cast-in-situ concrete piles with an enlarged base, but other foundation techniques did not take long to evolve to match technological progression and market developments. The emphasis on the Franki and the driven piles thus shifted to a wide range of techniques to be increasingly focused today on screw piles with lateral soil displacement. Franki Foundations promotes the Atlas and Omega soil displacement screw piles. These techniques were developed worldwide by Franki engineers and their development, which started in the 1960s with real improvements in the 1970s, has been assisted by a large amount of research in Europe. Recent improvements offer the possibility to install these screw piles in more complex soil conditions through the use of additional injection. These techniques are additionally applied to realise soil improvement.
